Murry Gunty is the Managing Partner of Blackstreet Capital having founded the firm in 2002. With over 23 years of private equity investment experience, Mr. Gunty has invested in excess of $1.7 billion of equity and subordinated debt capital in over 50 transactions. He was formerly a General Partner of Jacobson Partners, L.P., a middle-market private equity fund focused on control buyouts of business with up to $150 million in revenue. Mr. Gunty is a former partner in the real estate principal investment area of Lazard Freres & Co., LLC, where he co-managed $3 billion of capital in real estate-related private equity funds. He is a former associate of the Blackstone Group.
Mr. Gunty received a AB from Harvard College and an MBA from the Harvard Business School.
Kevin Kuby joined Blackstreet Capital Management, LLC as a Managing Director – Restructuring in 2012. Mr. Kuby has worked in the turnaround and restructuring industry for over 22 years. He has worked across a wide variety of industries developing and implementing restructuring strategies for financially distressed clients.
Prior to joining Blackstreet Capital, Mr. Kuby was a Managing Director for Alvarez & Marsal in their restructuring practice. Mr. Kuby was also previously a Senior Managing Director for FTI Consulting and a Director for PricewaterhouseCoopers in their business restructuring practices.
Mr. Kuby received an MBA from the University of Chicago and a B.A. in Economics from the University of Illinois – Urbana / Champaign. He is a Certified Turnaround Professional and a Certified Insolvency and Restructuring Advisor.
Jack Myers, CFA
Jack Myers, CFA joined Blackstreet Capital Management, LLC in 2017. Prior to joining Blackstreet, Mr. Myers worked as an Associate in the Investment Banking division of FBR & Co. where he gained experience in public and private equity offerings as well as M&A transactions in a variety of industries.
Mr. Myers graduated cum laude from Wake Forest University with a B.S. in Finance and is a CFA charterholder.
David Hartman joined Blackstreet Capital in December, 2009. Prior to joining Blackstreet Capital, Mr. Hartman served for nearly three years as Chief Financial Officer of Elderlife Financial Services, a venture-stage, healthcare related consumer finance company, which was funded by the private equity arm of a major hedge fund based in New York City. Later, Mr. Hartman led a management team buyout of Elderlife in June, 2009.
Mr. Hartman has over 25 years experience in commercial banking, asset based lending, leveraged finance, loan originations and syndications, merchant banking, work-outs, and distressed debt investing. He spent seven years with Chase Manhattan Bank, N.A. in New York City and has had single signature credit authority with both Chase and several commercial finance companies. Mr. Hartman was the Credit Supervising Officer and lead workout officer of a $1 billion leveraged finance portfolio for a liquidating commercial finance company based in Phoenix, AZ. Mr. Hartman currently serves on the Board of Directors for Creative Media Group, Inc. and Swisher Acquisition, Inc.
Mr. Hartman is a graduate of the University of Virginia’s McIntire School of Commerce with a BS in Finance and MIS.
Rob Dragonette joined Blackstreet Capital in the spring of 2016 as Chief Financial Officer bringing a unique combination of financial, analytic and operational skills. Mr. Dragonette has 20 years experience as a CFO in several industries and the roles of President and General Manager.
Most recently, Mr. Dragonette was CFO of D.M. Bowman, Inc., a transportation and logistics business. Prior to his tenure at D.M. Bowman, Mr. Dragonette spent 15 years in the direct marketing industry at Brickmill Marketing Services and Barton Cotton. His experience includes roles at KPMG Peat Marwick, Marriott International and Fusion Systems.
He is a graduate of the Robert H. Smith School of Business at the University of Maryland and the father of four boys.
Ryan Scott joined Blackstreet Capital Management as an Analyst in 2012. Previously, Mr. Scott worked on Capitol Hill in the United States Senate. Prior to that, Mr. Scott worked on a business development team at John Wiley & Sons specializing in creative idea development and sales modeling.
Mr. Scott graduated from Williams College with a Bachelors of Liberal Arts Degree in Political Science and a concentration in Leadership Studies.
Michael Potolicchio joined Blackstreet Capital Management, LLC in 2018. Previously, Mr. Potolicchio was an Associate with Aronson Capital Partners (ACP), a boutique investment bank focused on providing M&A and strategic advisory services to Aerospace, Defense and Government IT contractors. Prior to ACP, Mr. Potolicchio was an Analyst for Bengur Bryan & Co., and Patriot Capital, a boutique investment bank and private equity fund.
Mr. Potolicchio graduated from The George Washington University with a B.B.A. in Finance.
Patricia LaBorde is the General Counsel. Ms. LaBorde is a graduate of the University of Delaware and received her J.D. from the George Washington University School of Law. Prior to joining Blackstreet, Ms. LaBorde was the Chief Legal Counsel of a specialty finance company where she focused on transaction financing, regulatory matters, and litigation management.
