James A. Baker IV is a partner in the Washington office of Baker Botts. Mr. Baker’s practice is focused on a variety of international commercial and trade-related matters and commercial transactions, principally in the energy, telecommunications and financial services industries. In recent years his international representations include transactions in the Middle East, Central Asia, Europe and Russia, and many of those matters have involved negotiations between private concerns and government agencies or state enterprises. He presently represents the Azerbaijan International Operating Company in connection with its Main Export Pipeline project. Prior to joining Baker Botts, Mr. Baker served as counsel to the Majority Leader of the United States Senate, Senator Howard Baker (no relation).
Mr. Baker graduated from Cornell University with a Bachelor of Science in economics and received his Juris Doctor from the University of Texas School of Law. |
