Arthur P. Solomon is founder, President & CEO of DSF Real Estate Investors, LLC, a private equity firm, and is widely regarded as one of the most successful investors, advisors and operators in the U.S. real estate market. He founded and served as a senior partner at two highly successful real estate groups on Wall Street-Lazard Freres and Drexel Burnham.
During the past 15 years, Mr. Solomon has acquired more than $10 billion in real estate assets and been responsible for nearly $3 billion a year in real estate mergers and acquisitions, recapitalizations and asset sales. Mr. Solomon also served as investment banker and advisor to leading real estate companies operating in the United States and abroad, including Olympia and York, Trammel Crow, Mobil Oil, Corporate Property Investors, McGuire Thomas, Rockefeller Properties, the Davis Company, Rodamco and The Related Companies. Before moving to Wall Street, Mr. Solomon was Chief Financial Officer of Fannie Mae, the largest source of home mortgage financing in the United States, creating its mortgage-backed securities program and raising more than $50 billion a year in debt to support the agency’s mortgage portfolio. He also served as President & CEO of the Berkshire Group, a national real estate and financial services firm. Earlier in his career, Mr. Solomon was a tenured professor at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and Executive Director of the Harvard-MIT Joint Center for Urban Studies.
Mr. Solomon holds a Bachelor of Arts from Brown University, an M.A. from Trinity College and a Ph.D. in Economics from Harvard University. |
